You cannot use IBM® Cognos® User Interface and Error
String Customization Toolkit to coordinate the customization of some
database function files supplied with your product.
You
must copy these database function files manually to each computer
to which you copied the customized resource files.
If you do
not perform the following steps, product users will not be able to
use some database functions in the expression editor.
Procedure
- Go to the following product directory:
installation_location\configuration\functions
- Make a copy of the file with the name FileList_xx.xml,
where xx is a language code.
An
example is FileList_fr.xml.
- Open the copy of the file in an XML editor and replace
all occurrences of the original language code with the new target
language code.
For example, change every occurrence
of fr to es if your target language is Spanish.

- Save the file as FileList_yy.xml,
where yy is the target language code.
For
example, save the file as FileList_it.xml if
your target language is Italian.
